Xray is unreadable: Ask for a two view wrist and ap views with ulnar and radial deviation to assess carpal bones and intercarpal intervals looking for instability. If normal consider MRI or (if someone is good at it and most radiologists aren't) wrist ultrasound. ...Read more

My 12yo son ran full speed into a wall during basketball stopping himself with his left hand/arm. Considerable pain in his forearm. X-ray was negati?

Rest and recheck: At 12 years old, your son still has growth plates. They can break without being noticeable on X-ray. If that is the case, the break is not out of place, so treatment would be just to protect it. But pulled muscles and ligaments also hurt. Wrap his arm with an ace bandage. Let him use it lightly and give him tylenol for the pain. Then give it a week. If it's still sore then, repeat the X-ray ...Read more

I fell down from bike and left hand is effected with whole body weight there is sweeling on my hand and pain in hand joint. No fracture in X-ray com.

? Fracture/ligament: Pain in hand can be due to ligament injury or due to fracture of the scaphoid bone ;sometimes this does not show up on x-ray till 10-12 days later but as these fractures may not heal well, most hand surgeons will treat a patient as if they have the fracture by placing them in a cast from the start. If repeat x-rays confirm diagnosis then the cast is kept for 8 weeks. Ligament tears need splinting. ...Read more

Exam/ X-rays : Best thing to do obviously is to see an ors and get a thorough examination and x-rays .If you had a fracture from a year ago then x-rays will more than likely show evidence of this. Best of luck! ...Read more

You need to see: A hand specialist. The question is a bit unclear. If you had the surgery already and are still having issues and the surgeon is not addressing them see another hand specialist. An xray is worthless. Carpal tunnel usually has nothing to do with bones as much as soft tissue causing nerve impingement. Scar tissue is not seen on xrays. ...Read more

Depends: It depends on why your hand goes numb. Sounds like you need an emg/NCS to assess your median nerve (the nerve that travels through and is compressed in carpal tunnel). Ideally this would be compared to a study performed preoperatively. That can assess for recurrent slowing, possibly from scar tissue. Ultrasound is another diagnostic option ...Read more

I injured my left hand, xray is negative. I think its fracture bc after 3weeks it swollen, warm, red, slight fever. Grabbing, holding, moving it hurts.

Get another x-ray: If you still have pain, and it is increasing, there is a chance you had a non displaced fracture that did not show up on initial x-ray. Consider a repeat x-ray about 2-3 weeks later. If still negative, consider soft tissue sprains that will take more time to heal. See a hand specialist if there is still concern. ...Read more

Fls heart tightness uneasyness sudden pain for a second in left side of chest both back nd front left hand pain sometymes.Ecg CBC chest xray al normal?

Please clarify/check: This could be heart disease, but it could be from stress also. You might have a pneumothorax as you are young, but this usually occurs in thin individuals. Your weight puts you at increased risk for heart disease, but you are young and your tests were negative. So it would be wise to see your doctor for a full work-up including what situations this occurs in and if you're under stress. ...Read more

Random neck pains and aching in fingers on left hand. Upper back ache. Good EKG, heart enzymes, and chest xray a month ago. 21, active. Heart issue?

Not heart: At your young age, it is not likely your heart. It is most likely muscle spams pressing on the nerves in your neck causing the neck pains and aching in the fingers of your hand.
