Further work up: You need to discuss the results of your bone scan with your doctor and find out what is causing the hot spots. The normal x-rays don't help at all. You may need further imaging or even a biopsy. ...Read more

Could be a problem: If the surgeon felt this was new bowing that could be due to too much stress on the rod. That would be very unusual with modern rods as they are very strong...Especially to see as early as 8 weeks. If it is just on an x-ray report you need to talk to your orthopedist as it us likely nothing. Most rods are normally bowed and may bow slightly more after being inserted. ...Read more

Can happen: and is the reason in adults is stabilized by hardware ( like intra medullary rods ) Luckily children will heal very well with slight displacement , angulation and over riding, kids orthopedist is the best person to alleviate your worry ...Read more
