It's worth it: This is a major life decision. If you are sure that this is something you want, then the pain itself is something you will cherish for a lifetime. Any doubts, don't do it. I have a large-ish bruise on the inside of my wrist/arm following a tattoo 6 weeks ago and it won't heal. I do have ITP thats not problematic?
If you have a tattoo on your wrist or ankle, could you get a brain MRI if you needed one? How could a tattoo on wrist or ankle affect brain MRI?
Most likely fine: If there is a lot of iron in the pigment in the tattoo, it might heat up a bit in the MRI scanner. It would be worse at higher field strength such as 3T. Checkup: You need an examination. The worst possibility is a septic joint. More likely you have a teno-synovitis (rheumatism) - perhaps a hypersensitivity reaction from the dye used.
