Slammed hand in door 2 days ago had it x-rayed yesterday. Dr. Said no fracture but still can't move fingers or wrist w/o extreme pain. What can I do?
A swollen hand can: Be painful, stiff and difficult to care for even in th absence of fracture. Swelling in the hands and fingers and joints makes everyting feel tight and if the fingers are not gently mobilized, stiffness and even contracture can set in. Ice, antiinflammatories, gentle elevation, stressing passive and active motion, hand therapy all can help. Follow up is important even w/ negative xray. ...Read more

Varies: It varies quite a bit. Typically would at best be in the 8-12 week range. Your surgeon will be able to tell you more about your specific case. ...Read more
Got small scratch, puncture on wrist from microwave door. Still tender and bruised. Flexing my wrist hurts. What happened to my wrist? How do I fix it?
With a broken elbow, how long will it remain painful at the wrist when turning a key ignition or door knobs? Wrist hurts 3 weeks after elbow surgery.
Elbow surgery: The interosseous membrane can be injured with elbow trauma. This runs between the bones in the forearm (radius and ulna). This can lead to pain in the forearm with pronation/supination (palm up/palm down). X-rays performed of the wrist will ensure that the distal radial ulnar joint was not involved in your accident and be a separate reason your wrist still hurts. ...Read more

Don't give up: Not sure why the rheumatologist didn't offer help, but it sounds like you need further evaluation. You are too young to have pain in several joints. If you have a primary care physician I would bring your concerns to that doctor and see what more can be done.
