Possible: Tendinitis is a possibility. Overuse is another option. If no history of trauma or a visible bump (ganglion cyst), then the two options described are most likely ones. Recommend avoid offending activities. Using a wrist splint may help rest the painful spot. Anti-inflammatory meds - ibuprofen/naproxe, topical rubs voltaren/flector patch may be tried. You will need to see an orthopedist, however some family doctors also are trained to provide Intraarticular injections of corticosteroids. This is the next step if you have had a full course of NSAIDs and physical therapy. If you have not had a trial of NSAIDs and you can take them, that's the next step. Not likely : Tendons are structures that muscles connect that then allow them to move various bones. Because the collar bone does not really move, there are not really any major tendons that insert much on them and so tendinitis is not a real common cause of clavicle pain.
