Wrist Hurts After Bowling
Recently began bowling weekly, wrist hurts to lift or bend down. Pain is becoming unbarable. Should I see someone? Any suggestion on what to do?
Yes, get a hand exam: New activities can put stress on ligaments or muscles that you have not used before, resulting in stiffness, pain and changes in strength. Bowling, a strenuous activity on the wrist is classic. Oral anti-inflammatories might help, along with modifying your activity. However, make sure you have not sustained a true injury by seeing a hand surgeon who can examine your wrist. My office is not far. ...Read more

My wrist and middle finger are very sore and sensitive after bowling a few games the other day, my fingers swollen and slightly discolored?
Poor equipment fit:
This obviously could be something else but the most likely reason is poor fitting equipment. Have you had the holes in your bowling ball professionally assessed? Try that.
Sore wrist is common if you are trying to put spin on the ball and if the ball is too heavy.
Try wrist guards and a lighter ball. ...Read more

My wrist hurts when trying to cut things and makes a crackind sound when I rotate it. Should I wear a bandage?
Yes and see a doctor: For the time being you can wear, not a bandage, but a splint to support and rest the wrist. But you need to have the wrist checked to make sure there is not a potentially serious ligament issue that can often progress. A good history and exam along with x-rays and maybe MRI will tell a lot. Best of luck. ...Read more
My wrist hurts only when exposed to high pressure like lifting or draging heavy things it's been hurting for 3 weeks?
Treat as sprain: If you have no history of trauma, I would treat this injury as a sprain with rest and bracing if needed. If pain lingers past 6 weeks, I would then get wrist evaluated from either ongoing new injury or an exacerbation of an old injury. With a history of trauma, I would have wrist evaluated soon. ...Read more
