Wrinkles On Back Of Neck
Strain: Could be several reasons, anything from a cervical sprain/strain to pain because of a disc herniation, or spinal stenosis or myofascial neck pain. Without a more detailed history and physical examination it's hard to determine. I would advise you seek the advice of a local physiatrist, who would be able to help you.
Varies: Back/neck pain can take days to truly overcome depending on the severity and treatment. Most pain from muscle spasms can be treated effectively with some rest (initially), medication (anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen, pain medications, and/or muscle relaxants), heat/ice and appropriate amounts of low impact exercise/stretching/physical therapy. Immediate flare-ups should continue to improve.
Likely: Sounds like muscle spasms and without other symptoms. Most spasms can be treated effectively with some rest (initially), medication (anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen, pain medications, and/or muscle relaxants), heat/ice and appropriate amounts of low impact exercise/stretching/physical therapy. After improving you should be able to return to same weight, unless it does it again.
Instability: Most probably is degenerative changes and weak ligaments attaching the vertebrae in the neck. Best to see a prolotherapist o try to resolvve this problem without surgery or dangerous drugs. Find a prolotherapist at www. Getprolo. Com or at www. Aaomed. Org.
Dermatology referral: The proper treatment for your folliculitis depends on the type and severity of your condition. Creams or pills are used to control bacterial infections. Creams, shampoos or pills are used to fight fungal infections. Light therapy with a medicated cream and laser hair removal are also treatment options for some cases. I highly suggest you make an appointment to see a Dermatologist.
Conservatively: If the pain occurred suddenly apply ice and consider otc non-inflammatory medication. Perform active range of motion exercises to loosen up the neck muscles. Your physician can refer you to a physical therapist. If the pain persists, you may require a comprehensive history and physical exam, neck x-ray and possibly MRI for diagnosis and treatment by a specialist.

Lump: In the back of the neck could be several things. One is lipoma which unless symptomatic need not be take out except for cosmetic reason. It can slowly grow. The other is sebaceous cyst which can get infected and a lymph node which, if persistent that long, needs to be worked up. There is also a doweger's hump or simply a fat pad. Tell you doctor in concerns you. Good luck.
Get it checked...: We have only few glands in the back of neck and swelling/lumps you feel are often from sebaceous cyst, which if infected can cause pain and may look like the one in picture here. Lymphnodes are typically small and mobile but can get larger and sore if there is infection near-by the area. If it is bothering you, get it checked. Boil can be lanced and may need antibiotic. Consult doc. Good luck.
