Could be: I've had newborns with as many as 5 neck loops or up to 3 true knots in the umbilical cord all grow up & do fine. In both cases monitoring during labor produced heart rate changes that led to a cesarean delivery. Kids without stress patterns during labor have a loose loop & are unlikely to have problems. Sometimes the wrap prevents baby from delivering normally, holding them back like a yoyo. ...Read more

Snapshot in time: This just means you need to be in close contact.If babies been growing nl this should be ok. I've had healthy infants with up to 5 neck wraps or 2 true knots. They are worrisome and suggest the child may not do well in labor with the increased stress.A c-section delivery is more likely and an early trip to the l&d area anytime you think you are having contractions is worth considering. ...Read more
