Would Vomiting Help Clear Liquor From System
Why hurt yourself?: Alcohol (etoh) empties rapidly from the stomach. Alcohol dehydrogenase in the stomach lining contributes to etoh metabolism. Etoh can not be stored by the body & obligatory oxidation takes place predominantly in the liver. 1 gram etoh gives 7 empty calories that provide only energy with no nutritional value. Poor diet (protein-calorie, choline, folate (folic acid) deficiency) contributes to liver toxicity.See 1 more doctor answer
My son is 5. He has been vomiting everything in his system up since 8:30am today. Even water. What should I do?
Vomiting: Do not give your son anything for at least 1 hour after he last vomited. Then, give him sips of gatorade every 10-15 minutes for an hour. If he tolerates that for an hour or so, you can slowly increase the amount of gatorade given. Take it slow though and don't worry about solid food. Do not give any dairy (milk, yogurt). Once tolerating liquids, you may offer banana, applesauce, crackers.See 1 more doctor answer

Im on rivaroxaban if I have a vomiting bug a how long does the drug need to be in my system to be effective?
Question unclear: Rivaroxaban is an oral anticoagulant and the first orally active direct factor xa inhibitor. It is well absorbed from the gut and maximum inhibition of factor xa occurs four hours after a dose. The effects lasts 8–12 hours but factor xa activity does not return to normal within 24 hours so once-daily dosing is possible, the maximum effect in the first 4 hours.

Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) : Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) should be cleared from your system about 6 to 12 hours after taking it. I am concerned that your symptoms may have been from something other than an Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) allergy; which is usually characterized by a rash, hives, or in more severe cases shortness of breath. Dizziness, vomiting, lethargy, and nausea sound more like a gastroenteritis or stomach flu. If you are not better by now, you should visit your primary care provider for a follow up visit. Take care.See 1 more doctor answer
See below: Acid is colorless like water. Vomiting is not normal and there is no color it is supposed to be. It is usually yellowish and may be greenish if there is bile reflux. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
Nothing in stomach: It means there is nothing in your stomach, no food or colored liquid. If there was a blockage after your stomach, you might vomit bile, so it is also an indication there is no blockage from your esophagus through the upper part of your small intestines that is causing you to vomit. Hope you feel better soon. Keep up with your fluid losses due to vomiting and dont dehydrate.
Alcohol is poison: Vomiting is a primitive reflex that developed so that the body could rid itself of a poison before it causes damage. There is little nutritional value to alcohol. On the contrary, too much alcohol will hurt you--both acutely & over a prolonged exposure (see prior healthtap answers regarding alcohol toxicity). Your body is only trying to protect itself--listen to it & cut back your consumption.
Maybe a picture?: It sounds like mucus or food. The fact the remainder was clear is good. Take a picture and show your doctor. Follow up if it reoccurs. All the best.
Does appendicitis always cause vomiting and if I dont have the rebound effect does that mean im in the clear?
No and NO: You need not have vomiting to have Appendicitis, and appendicitis is a serious condition that needs to be worked up with more testing than just a check of rebound tenderness. For example a retro-cecal appendix may not cause rebound tenderness in the frontal abdomen, but other diagnostic clues/symptoms may be present.
This morning i threw up twice, the second time i actually looked and saw the vomit was clear. What could cause this?
After food's gone: With no food present in the upper digestive tract, there's only digestive enzymes, mucus and bile. Bile makes vomit yellowish. However, once the bile is completely evacuated, all that remains are digestive tract secretions. This includes the mucus, digestive enzymes, stomach acid, and water secreted into the gut. They're colorless. Drink lots of water and if it does not stop soon, see a dr. Best!
