I have a high level of calcium and hyperparathyroidism. I go see an endocrinologist in a week. The reason I went to see my Dr is because I have very heavy periods and was taking the Depo shot but stopped. Could any of these symptoms cause heavy periods?

Parathyroid: It is unlikely that an overactive parathyroid would have an effect on your periods. With your high calcium and parathyroid levels you should have any parathyroid nodules surgically removed. Recovery is usually early and straightforward. You may be in the hospital for 24 hours after surgery. That would be a good day for a gynecologist to see you in the hospital about your periods. Wish you well! ...Read more

Even : Even though there is a 1% chance of pregnancy after having your tubes tied, there are more likely causes depending on your age and other symptoms. Reasons for a missed period besides pregnancy are stress, poor diet, extreme exercise, weight loss, hormone imbalance such as with thyroid disorders or polycystic ovarian syndrome and even peri-menopause if you are older. If you are still not sure why your period has become irregular, you should give your ob/gyn doctor a call. Good luck! ...Read more

Too many periods I have had at lease 8 periods in a month and a half been to my ongyn he just put me on birth control been on it for a month and still no change what else can I possibly do they just tell me to wait and see next month

I : I agree with your concern. That amount of bleeding sounds very atypical. As it has not improved, please be seen again. You may need a blood test to be sure you aren't getting anemic. Please be sure your pap smear is up to date. It may even be recommended that you have an endometrial biopsy if this continues (biopsy of the lining of the uterus). There are other treatments to control your bleeding if needed. If you have continued heavy bleeding, feel light-headed or faint, or have pain then you must be seen as an emergency. ...Read more

I took 6000mg a day of Vitamin c and I got my period after I didn't see it for a month (pregnant).. do I still have to go to a doctor for a check up?

I have been bleeding for the past month, i thought my period cycle changing but that's not it, i was doing some researc and i think could be low iron?

Not likely: Low iron is not likely responsible for your continuous menstrual bleeding. You may become iron-deficient as a result of your continued blood loss from menstruation, but low iron itself is not the cause of your ongoing menstrual bleeding. You may want to see your ob/gyn to determine why your menstrual cycles are irregular. If you can regulate these cycles, you can potentially reduce loss of iron. ...Read more

Before two weeks back i take two ferinject iron injections bcz of animea this week my period started I face heavy bleed in my periods is this cz?

Unclear question: Your anemia is likely caused by iron loss in heavy menstrual bleeding. You should take oral iron and multivitamin supplements to replenish your iron and prevent anemia. You may wish to see a gynecologist to assess the cause of heavy bleeding. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex. Get HPV vaccine, if you are under 27 years of age. ...Read more

"Skipped periods": Skipped periods are usually related to failure of ovulation, which allows the lining of the womb (uterus) to enlarge and degenerate in places due to overstimulation. Having sex then causes strong uterine contractions which can result in blood being expressed into the vagina, and appearing as related in timing to the sexual activity.
