Why could i be bruising on my thighs after scratching? My platelets are normal.

Thin skin: Chronic sun damage thins the skin and makes the capillaries more fragile and susceptible to trauma. In addition there are many medications that thin the blood such as fish oil, aspiring, etc. If your blood work, CBC and differential are normal this is likely the cause. Always important to discuss this finding with your primary care doctor for a complete workup though. ...Read more

I had blood drawn from my arm and now my arm and elbow is bruised and discolored. Should i be alarmed?

Depends: After a blood draw, if there is slight bleeding underneath the skin, this creates the bruise. If enough pressure is placed after a blood draw, there should not be much bruising. If the bruise is large (extends farther from the are of the blood draw) and causes pain, seek medical attention. ...Read more

I've just been to doctor who said my blood pressure is fine. I still have calf pain, shin pain and thigh pain. Could this be a blood clot?

See below: Dvt is the term i believe you're referring to as a blood clot. Usual presentation will involve calf pain and swelling that is progressively unbearable. A screening test for this is called a venous doppler. This can be ordered by your medical physician .Usually a good thorough history and physical is able to rule out this condition. Go back to your medical doctor or seek out an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. I would do this as soon as possible like tomorrow good luck thank you. ...Read more
