Hello. I was diagnosed with strep throat 3 days ago. Started taking azithromycin 2 tablets 250 mg first day and 1 everyday for 4 days. Not better!
Strep/Zithromax: I'm not surprised. More and more strep are becoming resistant to Azithromycin and it is not considered a very good antibiotic anymore for strep. Penicillin or Amoxicillin is still the treatment of choice by far.
