Difficult problem...: This is more common than you might think. It is rare that severe constipation would kill someone, but significant medical issues can arise. Work with your doctor on figuring out a bowel regimen that works for you, trying to have a reasonable size bowel movement about every 2-3 days. High fiber, LOTS of water.
