Would An Hba1c Test Show Up Cancer
No, tests glucose: The hemoglobin A1c test is specifically looking for the percentage of hemoglobin with glucose attached to it. If you are smoking marijuana it will have no effect on the hga1c and only a test to specifically detect cannabis will show that chemical. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Cancer can begin anywhere in the body and is usually related to one or more genetic mutations that allow normal cells to become malignant by interfering with internal cellular control mechanisms, such as programmed cell death or by preventing ...Read more
HbA1c: It depends on lab normals. Mostly less than 6 percent. Now many define less than 5.7 percent as completely normal. ...Read more
Not really: The aic test generally tells us what has been going on with your sugar over the past 3 months approximately. One does not really have to fast for it, but it is best done fasting in my opinion, because your doctor will probably want to see a fasting blood sugar at the same time to help manage your diabetes. Often a lipid panel is done at the same time, which requires one to be fasting. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Eat healthily and exercise regularly FOR LIFE (not just the next couple of months). You need medication for diabetes. See your doctor. Determine if type 1 or type 2, and treat accordingly. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
No: The hemoglobin A1c is a measure of the amount of hemoglobin that is bound to glucose (blood sugar) in red blood cells. Red blood cells live about 120 days, so the A1c gives an idea of diabetic control over 3 months. Eating on the day of the test will make no difference. Be sure, though, that no other tests, such as fasting lipid panel or fasting chemistries, have been ordered along w a1c. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hba1c test is within range but fasting blood sugar is 7.2. Can u get a true answer when checked after 12 hrs of eating?

Your fasting serum glucose of 7.2 is frankly diagnostic of diabetes, and at the very least, impaired glucose tolerance. It should be repeated for confirmation. Fasting should only require 8 hours of not eating. Healthy lifestyle! ...Read more
