No but: tell your friend to say it not spray it[lol], if get red eye with goopy discharge would be conjunctivitis , usually just washing out with water asap is helpful but never heard of gettin g heb. b or hiv , need blood for that and longer duration , your tears wash it out.

Need an eye exam. : It's prudent that you get examined by an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. The small red spot that you are describing sounds like a sub conjunctival hemorrhage which is due to a blood vessel that was damaged under the white membrane of the eye. In itself it's not dangerous but trauma to the eye may be associated with glaucoma, retinal tear, blood in the anterior chamber known as hyphema, etc.

Injury to eye?: A burn to the eye needs to be assessed by your ophthalmologist ! Guess is if you see well...no harm was done-

Probably okay: The main symptom of a concussion in children is vomiting after the injury. If your child vomits once or twice, it may just be from the adrenaline rush of the pain. If he vomits more than twice in the first 24 hours after an injury, he should be seen by a doctor. If he seems be acting differently than normal, check with your doctor.

Nose or eye: There could be two reasons for this finding. First is that the trauma that you sustained could have also caused damage to the inner lying tissues of the nose or it can be due to the fact that the nasolacrimal duct which drains tears from our eye is draining blood from the eye. Either way you must see an ophthalmologist to get thoroughly examined.

I was in a fight. Hard to open mouth from jaw pain. Shoulder, neck and behind eye hurts. 7 seizures. Didn't hit head. What could this be? Diagnosis..?

Post fight pains: Did you mean "seizures" or "stitches?" If you had seizures, you need to see a neurologist IMMEDIATELY. If "stitches," where were they? You say the head wasn't touched. A "whiplash" type injury could cause the stiffness; The pain behind the eye is hard to explain w/ no facial injuries. Ice the area and if the pain doesn't subside, consult your doctor.

Paranasal sinusitis: I would suggest considering a paranasal sinus ct scan or routine xrays paranasal sinus. If the lids are crusting, then consider topical antibiotics / steroids. Ophthalmology consult would be recommended for sure.

Can diseases be transferred through getting spit in your eye?

Can diseases be transferred through getting spit in your eye?

Usually not: Saliva generally has a low concentration of truly dangerous pathogens. On the intact corneal and conjunctival surface you have antibodies which neutralize many pathogens. Getting blood splashed into the eye is a different story which can transmit HIV and hepatitis. Just wash your eye out and you should be ok.

Is it possible for you to catch diseases from a lil spit getting in your eye?

Is it possible for you to catch diseases from a lil spit getting in your eye?

Technically, yes.: This is fairly unlikely because the healthy eye has a very effective immunological defense system. Nevertheless, a sufficient innoculum or breakdown in defenses could result in transmission of infection. The surface of the eye is a mucous membrane.

Ice the injured area: Ice the injured areas 20 minutes 2-3 times today and tomorrow. You need to be sure there is no internal injury. I guess you don't have an air bag? If you are not felling right see your physician

Spit in eye dangerous?

Spit in eye dangerous?

Saliva in eye: Saliva usually has a low concentration of truly dangerous pathogens. Natural antibodies on the intact corneal and conjunctival surface neutralize many pathogens. Blood splashed into the eye, though, is a concern, as HIV and hepatitis can be transmitted. Any time you get any foreign substance in your eye, wash it out with water asap. If redness or pain ensue, see your eyemd.

If someone with mono spits in your eye will you catch it?

If someone with mono spits in your eye will you catch it?

The kissing disease: Mono is transmitted via saliva, hence the nickname: kissing disease. It's highly contagious and having an infected-spit in your eye can transmit the disease. But, chances are you already had the disease and so this won't do much. Like all other "things in your eyes, "quickly flush it out with plenty of water will significantly reduce the possibility of harm. Cosult doc if u r concerned. Good luck.
