Creek water got up my nose. Shallow, warmish water. Left nostril kinda swelling a bit. Should I be worried about brain eating amoeba? Or anything else

However, if your nostril continues to swell, becomes red, or you have worsening pain or any drainage/pus, see your doctor right away. ...Read more

Something went into eye, now it feels like sand but nothing's their. Washed with saline wash. Hurts when blinking or keeping eye closed. Whats wrong?

May be a scratch: A scratched cornea can feel like a foreign body, but it is just the scratch that causes pain. As long as the object was something like dirt, sand, a bug, etc you should be OK. If it was something that could have PENETRATED the eyeball (a spark, a piece of metal) you need to see a doc ASAP. Flushing with saline was correct, you can continue this. You should feel better in am, if not, see a doc. ...Read more

I'm having nose bleed after head injury but not hit in nose, normal?

I'm having nose bleed after head injury but not hit in nose, normal?

Depends: "Head injury" doesn't mean the same thing to doctors as it means to laypeople. But practically speaking, whenever you have an unexplained nosebleed you should have it checked out. The blood may be coming from behind your nose. And even if it's coming FROM your nose, the nasal septum is supplied by 3 arteries, so whatever the cause, you can lose a lot of blood if it's not controlled. ...Read more
