Hard abdomen: Hard, board like rigid abdomen is an emergency. It is caused by bacterial infection to abdominal wall. It may be due to intestinal, appendices , gall bladder perforation or peritonitis. Growth Chart: It would be good to know his growth points and plot them on a chart for comparison. It is certainly unlikely that there is some kind of mass persisting this long. I suggest a physical exam and evaluation to address your concerns. On exam we size the liver, evaluate for other large organs, and rule out any other kind of palpable masses.
