Complete in 6-12 mon: Healing rate varies somewhat among people but generally slower as we get older. Often a simple fracture needs a about 6-8 wks to heal. Healing starts soon after the injury/surgery but to be "solidly in place" may take about 2-3 months. You may start pt earlier with partial wt bearing, then increase slowly.
