Waking Up With A Broken Blood Vessel In The Eye
I had a cold for 3 days, which is now in my left sinus. I woke up with a broken blood vessel in my left eye and redness.
Not to worry: The broken blood vessel was probably caused by coughing or sneezing related to your cold. It will resolve over the next 7-10 days.
I woke up with broken blood vessels in my eye and the top part of my leafs close to my backside. Should I be concerned?
Broken vessel: A broken blood vessel is normally not concerning. I don't understand the other part of your question.
Time will heal: Think of this as a very visible "bruise" which will slowly, usually in a week, change color and fade away. If especially large, it can resemble a blood blister and become raised. It can also migrate across the surface of the eye since there is little under the clear membrane to keep it localized. In some people, if it's large, I have seen it creep into the lower lid skin with gravity.See 2 more doctor answers
In or on surface?: If it is on the surface (you can see it in the mirror) it is most likely not a problem. Occasionally blood vessels break on the surface (called sub-conjunctival hemorrhage) and looks bad, but will resolve on its own. There should not be any pain or vision changes it this occurs. If this happens mutiple times, see and ophthalmologist (there may be undelying cause).
No sweat: The blood wil clear sooner or later. See ophthalomologist to rule out any trauma to the eye structures.
Broken blood vessel?: Patients with dry eyes and allergies can rub their eyes and experience recurrent broken blood vessels from the physical trauma of rubbing the eyes. In some patients it can be due to elevated inr (too much coumadin) or excessive use of Aspirin or ibuprofen. Treating the dry eye or allergies can reduce this. If you have easy bruising or bleeding, check with your primary care doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
I have broken blood vessel inside my eye and it is affecting my vision. What is the diagnosis and lenght of cure?
Depends: When you say inside of your eye, this is hard to assess as there are many structures in the eye that can have bleeding in such as sclera, anterior chamber, vitreous, retina etc. If you know which one you have bleeding in, you need to let us know for us to be able to help. If you don't, then you needs to be promptly evaluated by physician.See 1 more doctor answer
I got a headache Where it hurt to lean over now my eyes have like a broken blood vessel their like blood shot, why?
Head ache: There is not enough information for a relevant response. Do you have cold or flu symptoms? Have you been dehydrated? Have you been coughing or vomiting? the broken capillaries in the sclera suggest an increase in pressure. Talk to your parents about your concerns and they may need to have you be seen by a doctor.
I was in an altercation Sunday that left me with a broken blood vessel in my eye. Just today it is very sensitive to even the smallest about of light?
Usually nothing: Sub conjunctival hemorrhage is a common condition. It may be due to blood pressure ore eye pressure. But usually a cause is not found. Any valsalva maneuver may cause a capillary to break, even heavy lifting or constipation. It is usually benign. But have your eyes checked.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends: "broken blood vessel" is actually not a very specific diagnosis. If a small hemorrhage on the eye surface is meant, then it will typically heal and all blood resorbed within 1-2 weeks. If there is a problem in the back of the eye, it may be the tip of the iceberg. Please consider getting a proper evaluation by an eye care professional.See 1 more doctor answer
