Yesterday was first time I went parallel skiing. I woke up with pain on the inside of my left knee hurts more when I bend the knee. What can it be?

MCL / meniscus.?: Skiing can stress the medial collateral ligament w/ valgus (knock-kneed) injuries or repeated 'cutting' or changing direction while skiing. If your knee continues to hurt despite nsaids and time, or develops swelling inside the joint it could be your cartilage (medial meniscus). This is usually more likely injured w/ a twisting mechanism and may require surgery... Good luck! ...Read more

Weather has started getting cold and my knee hurts all the time now. It is from a old injury. What can I do to help the pain?

Determine pain cause: Do you have arthritis? Is this tendonitis? Is there swelling of the knee? Could you have a meniscal tear? To effectively treat pain, you have to determine the cause, if possible. For now, rest from offending activities, ice for 20 minutes at a time, take OTC ibuprofen in only the recommended amt.
