Withdrawal Plan B
I had unprotected sex on ovulation day with withdrawal. Took plan b after 12 hours. Will plan b still work?
Try Ulipristal/Ella: Unfortunately the primary mechanism of Plan B is the prevention of ovulation, but if the cat's already out of the bag, meaning you've already ovulated, then there might not be very much that Plan B can do. You may however call your doctor and ask for a script for Ulipristal or EllaOne which is more effective than Plan B and safe for the prevention of pregnancy at up to 120 hours. Good luck! ...Read more
What would be the odds of a woman who had uterus ablation, tubal ligation getting pregnant when she/partner used perfect withdrawal and Plan B in 24hr?
Very little chance: Tubal ligation by itself has a failure rate of 1in300 to 500. Ablation, while not a method of birth control destroys the lining where the pregnancy would implant. Unless your ablation/tubal ligation was done less than 6 weeks ago I would guess the chance is more like 1in500 or less. I tell my patients no unprotected sex until 6 weeks out from tubal ligation. ...Read more
Experienced withdrawal bleeding after plan b. Exactly like a period in heaviness and length (2 wk early) when should I expect my next period?
I know it's hard to tell, but is it possiblle for the withdrawal bleeding after Plan B to be my real period if it was taken 1day before it was due?
Sure: There is an overlap so the bleeding is the period. Good luck. ...Read more
Used withdrawal method, took plan b 12 hours later. It was on day 21 of 29 day cycle. Period one day late, test negative. When can I trust test result?
Yes: It is counted as a period and will change the timing of your next period. It will not, however, necessarily be 28 days after the withdrawal bleeding. ...Read more
I took Plan B. Period isn't due for 3 weeks. If I experience withdrawal bleed from Plan B does it reset my periods or should I still expect it on time?
Does withdrawal bleeding from Plan B one step count as day one of your cycle to expect your next normal period?
Is "withdrawal" bleeding from Plan B counted as period? If I just ended LMP a week b4 that. And could it make expected period late?
Plan B: Any increase in estrogen and progesterone (Plan B is just hormonally active oral contraceptives) can cause minor bleeding when stopped. If you took "Plan B" seven days after your period ended (day 10-12 of your cycle?) remember Plan B is not "100%" protective, so if your period is "late", obtain a serum test (HCG) to be certain. ...Read more

Depends: Depending on your cycle, period bleeding would normally be 28 days after your last period Plan B could cause bleedin in some people within a few days. Usually a lighter flow with plan b, but also depends on how heavy your regular periods are. The best new is that you gat a period hopefully not being pregnant. ...Read more
Feb18 messed around with guy. Thought precum got on me. 3hrs l8r took plan b. Withdrawal bleeding for about a week now gone. Pls tell me I'm not preg?
Hi, is it normal to have some light bleeding with clots a week after experiencing withdrawal bleeding cause by plan b? I took the plan b 2 days after my period
"Plan B": Plan B is probably not necessary only "2 days after" a period, but after "Plan B" if pregnancy did not occur, there is withdrawal bleeding from the estrogen in "Plan B", added to the spotting which is also possible with ovulation, and some light bleeding and small clots may occur. If you suspect pregnancy, get a serum HCG test to be certain. ...Read more

Typical with Plan B: Plan b essentially disrupts the normal menstrual cycle by blocking or delaying ovulation. That it is how it works and why it is so different than a medical abortion. Irregular bleeding after taking Plan B is not rare. Always check a pregnancy test after using Plan B and see a doctor to start a better form of birth control. ...Read more
Would I need plan b if I missed two combination pills in a row, but doubled up after and had intercourse days later (used withdrawal)?
Maybe: More than likely you are protected from pregnancy. However, the efficacy of Birth Control Pills is reduced if doubling up for missed pills. Withdrawal for birth control is notoriously unreliable so if worried, taking plan B may be in your best interest. Realize that it may make your bleeding irregular. ...Read more
I took Plan B 1day b4 period was due, I got period/withdrawal bleeding (idk which one the bleeding was) 1week later, next month I'm late. Meaning?
Plan b: Plan b does not cause early ovulation. In fact that's the way it works by blocking ovulation. Plan b can cause menstrual cycle disruption temporarily. That's likely what happened with you. Your cycles will return to normal shortly. If you had unprotected sex again after taking Plan B you should take a pregnancy test. ...Read more
