Don't use Sharpie: You may be allergic to one of the volatile chemicals. Pediazole (erythromycin ethylsuccinate and sulfisoxazole) allergy is uncommon as well. Discuss this with the allergist. Another possibility is that you may have precipitated a form of migraine triggered by the chemical odor. Either way use something else to write with and if your teacher gives you a hard time about it tell them that I think its a true medical condition. ...Read more

Sinus scenario: Using simplest possible diagnosis to fit all parts of your problem would be a sinus infection, either bacterial or viral. If your nose is draining thick mucus and/or mucus is running down the back of your throat, that diagnosis becomes much more likely.
