With Blood Under Nail What Are My Treatment Options
Inflammation , eye: As with other parts of the body, all inflammatory response is the body's response to something such as an infectious agent, an irritant such as drug or chemicals etc. While steroids will help as do non- steroid agents, the causative agents needs to be identified as some are potentiated by these agents. What are the treatment options for eye cancer? I've been diagnosed with eye cancer, and my doctor recommends removing the eye. Are there any other options? What are their success rates?
It : It depends on the type and extent of the cancer. An additional consideration is your visual status in that eye and the unaffected eye. In general enucleation or removal of the eye is reserved for intraocular cancers that can not be reasonable treated with external beam or plaque radiation. The goal of surgery is to contain the cancer in the eye and ensure it does not spread elsewhere. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I just got surgery on my toe because of an ingrown nail. What causes it and what are the treatment options?
Nails too short: Your great toe tends to be crowded while walking by the side of the shoe and the long 2nd toe in a pinched fashion. If the nail is cut short enough that the edge is buried by surrounding tissue, the pinching drives the nail edge down creating a small cut.Over time, this will become inflamed. If the nail edge is allowed to grow longer, skin passes under the nail during compression and no cut occurs. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
What can I do to correct my bulging armpits? My armpits are kind of convex shped which look really ugly when i wear a sleevless top. What are the medical procedures available to correct this and the treatment duration and costs associated with this?
Sorry : Sorry it took so long to answer this question. The treatment options for this region depend largely on two things, skin tone and lipodystrophy (excess fat). Thus, things like age, current weight, and weight gain/loss history are important in determine treatment options. A great outcome occurs when the appropriate treatment is paired with the problem at hand. Liposuction is the most likely option, but this is only a good option when skin elasticity is intact. Good skin elasticity is generally present in those who are relatively young and who have not had dramatic shifts in weight. When one loses excess weight, the skin may not rebound. So when liposuction is performed, only yields great results when the skin retracts. If skin elasticity is poor (i.e. If stretch marks are present) direct excision of skin and involved fat may be required. A physical exam would be required to give a more detailed assessment. A free consultation can be attained from most plastic surgeons. Liposuction is generally $1000 to $2000 per region. Direct excision may cost $1500 to $3000 depending on the location of your physician and experience. Stick with surgeons who are board certified by the american board of plastic surgeons. Hope this helps! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

I have toenail fungus and there are no laser treatments available in my area and i don't want to take an oral med. What is the best OTC option?
I have fungus under some of my toe nails. Are there alternative treatments (home) to get rid of it?
Maybe?: The reason you hear so many different treatments for toenail fungus is because there is no perfect, sure-fire treatment that works 100% of the time. I've seen vaporub work, as well as other natural oil remedies, but rarely. You can also try laser therapy, antifungal creams, paints, or even oral medications if your doctor deems you healthy enough to take them. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I squished my thumb under a 200lb piece of metal. Thumb swollen, purple and black bruising on middle knuckle, blood under nail, can't bend.. Broken?
Bloody puncture at top of thumb, blood under nail, from a fork. Washed immediately, 6 times with soap+alcohol+betadine. How can I tell if infected?
When there's pus: Depending on what was on the fork, and the fact that it's metal, means making sure that you've had a tetanus booster. Also, with the puncture you are going to experience pain and throbbing. So if there's any signs of swelling or inflammation, or the skin is red, it needs medical attention. If it's a deep puncture, and you irrigated and applied soap, you still may need to see a doctor to start oral antibiotics. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My grandpa dropped heavy wood on his big toe by the cuticle area. It is bleeding a lot but he can move it. Could it be broken? No blood under nail.
I've had a dark brown area under my toe nail (which I was assuming was blood) for 3 months now no improvement. Takes up half toe nail. Treatment?
Not Toe-late Yet.: Unfortunately, there is no way to render an effective treatment without knowing what the cause of the brown is. As you may already know, it can be only one off several different things. It is either blood, bacteria, fungus, dirt or a type of melanoma. Now that you know the options, you need to be examined. With the possibility of melanoma on the list, I would not delay the examination too long. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My big toe nail blood cloth due to soccer. Hurt only when press. Wanna know prevention and treatment for this.
Soccer technique key: Soccer often puts a lot of trauma and stress on toe nails. You can decrease the chances of this by keeping your toe nails trimmed and making sure your soccer shoes aren't too tight. If your on a soccer team, work with your coach to improve your technique. With a subungual hematoma.... How come sometimes the blood is black and sometimes it is brown? Is one better than the other?
When a nail is falling off after a subungual hematoma, what will the nail under it look like? It looks like i can see bone underneath.
My big toe seems to be subungual hematoma. The injury lasted for months now. Half the nail fell off 3 weeks ago & now it's blackish red again.
Purple-ish/black dot under nail with calcium deposits around it. Fairly certain recent trauma (jamming finger)... Fitting for subungual hematoma?
How can you tell the difference between subungual hematoma vs melanoma? Had a dark area under toe nail for 3 months (not a vertical line though)
Not safe to guess.: Telling the difference between the two is not always as simple as following as bullet point list. Both of these conditions can vary in appearance from patient to patient. To reduce the chances of missing the diagnosis, several things are needed. A thorough examination, a precise history of the problem and most importantly, experience in recognizing what you are seeing. Have the examined and soon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
