How long should I wait to eat hot foods after a wisdom tooth removal and a root canal?

How long should I wait to eat hot foods after a wisdom tooth removal and a root canal?

Hot Foods: Following root canal therapy, the temperature of the food is irrelevant since there is no nerve in the tooth and therefore the tooth is not sensitive to thermal stimuli. Following a surgical extraction, i would suggest that you eat temperate foods for a few days to give the tissues time to heal. Since each wound and person is different, use sound judgement for your specific situation. ...Read more

It's always best to: Call the dentist, or in this case the endodontist, who actually treated you to find out what you should expect, how long to expect it for, and whether or not you should wait it out or come back to have the tooth re-evaluated. Having some discomfort 4 days after treatment is not uncommon but each day should be better than the previous one. ...Read more

Get checked!: I believe you meant to say that now your wisdom tooth hurts badly. Maybe you have a cavity in the wisdom tooth as well? Sometimes these teeth are difficult to restore and are extracted. Other times, if its in an area that accessible, it can be filled or root canal can be done if necessary. Good luck. ...Read more

How long should I wait to get a root canal on molar after a part bony wisdom tooth extraction?

How long should I wait to get a root canal on molar after a part bony wisdom tooth extraction?

Right away: As long as you can open your mouth in comfort, i would not delay getting the root canal. Waiting only creates a greater potential for a dental emergency. A root canal is actually a much easier procedure than the extraction of a full boney impacted wisdom tooth. So don't delay and good luck! and don't forget to get a crown after the root canal is completed! to delay, risks your tooth breaking! ...Read more

Had a root canal on wisdom tooth. Pain for three weeks. Pain reliever Round the clock. Pain in cheek and jawbone. Half of face with teeth in pain.

See specialist: Have you been in touch with the Dentist ?? If a specialist did the treatment, they would want to see you ASAP to address this issue. If not done by specialist, then you should see an Endodontist for evaluation and treatment. My concern based on your report is that you may have cracked the tooth, and if this is the case, it will need to be extracted. Good Luck -- Make Appt. ...Read more

Had a root canal on wisdom tooth. Pain for three weeks. Pain reliever Round the clock. Pain in cheek and jawbone. Half of face with teeth in pain.

See dentist: return for follow up with the dentist who did the root canal or get a second opinion. It is possible on lower teeth to get inflammation in the nerve canal that runs inside of the jaw bone. This pressure will cause everything along the whole side to hurt. Seek follow up care. ...Read more

A few things to note: Are there any adjacent teeth that have cavities present? If so, these teeth could be the cause of your pain. Sometimes these procedures can cause discomfort. Consider contacting your dentist to increase the dose or use a different pain medication. See your dentist to check the site for any infection present. ...Read more

Four days after my root canal and wisdom tooth removal, I have cold and clammy hands/feet, feel general fatigue, and have heavy legs. Are they related?

Perfectly normal: Your body is using energy to heal itself, so you may feel more fatigue than usual and this is perfectly normal. You also may expect swelling for 7 days and a fever of 99 degrees F to 100 degrees F. If you do not feel that you are beginning to improve after 7 days call your surgeon for post-op appointment. ...Read more
