Had food particles in wisdom tooth extraction site for days and was in pain. Finally got it out by rinsing from side to side. Will it cause an problems?
Rinse: It is normal to get food particles in an extraction site. Normally the Surgoen gives a list of post -op instructions. One of those is to start rinsing with warm salt water 24 hours after your extraction. You should do this after every meal or snack to insure no food particles in the socket. If your pain is subsiding than you are on your way to recovery. If pain is increasing than see your dentist
After a wisdom tooth extraction is it normal for my teeth on the same side as the extraction to hurt?
Yes: Most likely this is referred pain. The same nerves go to several of the teeth, so if the area of the extraction is starting to ache, then several other teeth may seem like they are also hurting. However, if the pain worsens or doesn't resolve, call the dentist. A local infection is also possible after an extraction.See 1 more doctor answer
Had wisdom tooth extraction 2wks ago, I feel normal now but at times its like I have tonsilitis on the same side the extraction was made is this normal?
Post-Op Sensation: It is normal to have some sensitivity in the area of the extraction for several weeks after the extraction. Depending on the complexity of the extraction, you may take longer than average to feel back to your regular self. If symptoms continue to bother you or get worse, definitely call the dentist who extracted your wisdom tooth to schedule a follow-up visit.
3rd day after wisdom tooth extraction bad smell & taste from the place stitches are, mostly the side. Also lightly brown saliva. Should I be alarmed?
How long do I need to wait to be able to eat solid food after wisdom tooth extraction? Do milk have any side effect?
Few days: If you didn't get specific instructions from your dentist or oral surgeon, eat soft foods for a few days until the area has started healing. Then start adding more solid foods slowly, and as long as your gums don't become more painful or start bleeding, then you can continue to add more solid foods until you are back to eating your regular diet.
I had a wisdom tooth extraction last week and I have paresthesia on the left side of my tongue. Are there exercises that can help the nerve recover?
What is the cause of an asymmetrical smile after wisdom tooth extraction? Like muscle on one side of face are weak. Procedure done 2 months ago.
See dentist: What you described suggests damage to a nerve. You should consult your dentist for an evaluation and if that does not satisfy you may need to see a neurologist.

Is it normal to have mild ear pain and jaw discomfort on the left side of my face after 11 days of a wisdom tooth extraction?
Dull sensory pain/tingling in left side of face and head after horizontally-impacted wisdom tooth extraction. Had lingual nerve damage. Any medication?
Contact ENT: Get back with your oral surgeon. An ENT consult (ear, nose and throat MD) might help.
Are thereany medications for trigeminal sensory pain in left side face/head after horizontally-impacted wisdom tooth extraction & lingual nerve damage?
Several: We use different medications to help alleviate nerve pain. Amitryptilline is an old-fashioned anti-depressant that we never use for depression any more - it helps. Seizure medications like gabapentin, carbamezapine and valproic acid help. You may need more than one type of medication and sometimes you find out what works only by trial and error. See a neurologist for treatment.
Wisdom Teeth: Everyone has a different experience, and it's difficult to generalize. Pain is also very subjective and variable from person to person. I encourage you to have a thorough discussion with your oral and maxillofacial surgeon who will alleviate any anxiety about the procedure you may have. The majority of patients get through the procedure just fine. Stay positive.See 3 more doctor answers
Usually anything: Usually there are no restrictions other than really hot foods while your mouth is numb and anything that you have to suck through a straw because using a straw could lead to loss of clot and then a dry socket. I also tell people to avoid chips, nachos, etc so they don't cut the extraction site/clot.See 1 more doctor answer
Lots of variables: There is a very wide range here. A simple extraction vs. A horizontal full bony impaction? Iv sedation vs. Local anesthesia alone. Big city prestigious office vs. Local rural dentist? Fee for service private practice vs. Insurance plan office? You've already received some idea from my colleagues. Best way to find out for sure is to see your local dentist or an oral surgeon.See 2 more doctor answers
