Will yogurt in vagina or diet prevent yeast infections?

Will yogurt in vagina or diet prevent yeast infections?

Unlikely: Most yogurt available today is pasteurized and does not contain live lactobacillus bacteria. Even if the label says it contains live bacteria, most yogurt has too much sugar to be effective. Stick with regular treatments and take a pro biotic pill. ...Read more

How do I prevent from getting yeast infection or bacterial infection in my vagina?

How do I prevent from getting yeast infection or bacterial infection in my vagina?

Question unclear: Are you getting these? Or do you just want to prevent the possibility? Stop taking Keflex and this will reduce the risk of candidiasis. Bv is not likely to occur unless some change in the acidity or other environmental changes in your vaginal secretions. Doubt you can prevent this from occurring. ...Read more

Can you insert probiotic supplements into the vagina to cure/prevent chronic yeast infections and if so is there a certain brand or type to use?

Can you insert probiotic supplements into the vagina to cure/prevent chronic yeast infections and if so is there a certain brand or type to use?

Not yet: Note yet, at least not with any degree of certainty. However, research is ongoing, looking at which species and strains of microorganisms might someday be able to re-colonize the vagina and prevent overgrowth by fungi (ie, Candida) or other microbes ("BV"). Hopefully someday soon we will be able to apply "normal microbial flora" instead of antibiotics. ...Read more

Ways to prevent yeast infection or a bacterial infection at your vagina? Does it help if i don't wear underwear when i sleep or does it make it worse?

Does not matter: Maintaining a healthy vaginal flora and ph is the best way to avoid overgrowth with unwanted bacteria, like yeast or a mix of anaerobic bacteria, that cause bacterial vaginosis. You should avoid vaginal douches and what often helps are otc vaginal ph balancing gels. They come in packs of single applicators and you get them most of the time in supermarkets, next to the tampons. ...Read more

Does it work to put yogurt in my vagina to get rid of a yeast infection?

Does it work to put yogurt in my vagina to get rid of a yeast infection?

Yes: However, a much better choice would be to eat the yogurt rather than using it as a douche. The bacteria will get into your gastrointestinal tract and by proximity at the rear end, will also get where you want it to go - much less messier too. Another alternative is an otc product called luvena that supposedly has probiotics that is designed to be a vaginal insert. ...Read more

Can i put cold yogurt on i vagina to relieve a yeast infection?

Yogurt use: There is a prebiotic product called luvena (vaginal wipes). The wipes are not a treatment for candidiasis but do help vaginitis. The average yogurt you buy in the grocery store has dead cultures. Consider eating yogurt with live cultures or kefir. Yogurt with live cultures can be placed in the vagina (some say it helps but there is not clear research to back claims currently). ...Read more

Is it safe to put a small amount of yogurt inside the vagina for a yeast infection?

Not a treatment: Putting yogurt in the vagina is not a good idea particularly if the yogurt has any sugar in it. Sugar could aggravate any vaginal infection. Be sure your infection is yeast as bacteria can cause vaginal discomfort and discharge as well. If a yeast infection is confirmed, a pill called Diflucan (fluconazole) or a vaginal insert medication like Clotrimazole or micronazole. See MD. ...Read more
