Will Type One Diabetes Stop Me From Being Allowed Ivf
In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. During ivf mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. A few days later, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted into the uterus. One cycle of in vitro fertilization ...Read more
I just had blood tests for before I start IVF that tested for HIV hepatitis, rubella, diabetes etc what if I was positive?
It depends: Some illnesses dramatically increase the risk of a miscarriage or a deformed baby. Some illness can be managed by avoiding a vaginal delivery. If you are going to spend a small fortune on ivf and the doc is going to spend a lot of time getting your pregnant, i think you both would like to have as much info as possible before you start. ...Read more
Hw can asprine affect growth of embryo. I have to take one 100 mg every morning for my memory problem. Should i stop taking it while going for ivf?
Low-dose aspirin is : used by some to slow memory loss in women > 65, but not reversal of memory loss in any age. It is a Class D drug in pregnancy, per the US Federal Drug Administration, as it has known adverse risks in pregnancy. Stop it now unless your Fertility Specialist okays it. Start daily folate (folic acid) supplement at least 3 mos. before conception; have a flu shot at least 2 mos. before conception. ...Read more

Hormones: Fertility medicines are hormones that are either injected into the muscle, tablets taken by mouth, or creams/gels that are inserted into the vagina, many times a combination of them. The medication needs to be administered/taken according to a tight schedule that cannot be modified while being administered. Undergoing this type of therapy is a big commitment on the side of the patient. ...Read more
Cannot be sure.: But certainly your underlying medical problems and their therapy can impact your chance of success per ivf cycle -which is probably no more than 15-20% at your age anyway. Take folic acid, follow the advice of your reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist and keep your spirits up. Perseverance and optimism get rewarded typically. Best of luck! ...Read more
It depends: Ivf success varies from center to center. Most of my ivf patients conceive on their first/only ivf cycle. Sometimes it can take more than one attempt, though, for ivf to work. A good, board certified re should be able to guide his/her patient as to when "enough is enough". ...Read more
In failed IVF , how can one determine if it is due to implantation failure ? What causes implantation failure
Negative preg. test: Embryos that implant ('take' in the lining of the uterus) make detectable levels of HCG hormone, so embryos that implant and then fail later cause a 'biochemical pregnancy' or miscarriage. Embryo transfer with negative blood HCG means embryos didn't implant. Possible causes: genetic or metabolic problems in the embryos, polyps or other problems with uterine lining, or issues with embryo transfer. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My eggs frozen so I can have a career and go for IVF later. Dont want problems. Will baby be perfect as one from fresh egg?
Probably : Egg freezing is relatively new. Only about 5, 000 babies have been born from frozen eggs while it is estimated that about 5 million babies have been born from ivf using fresh eggs. At this point it appears that the birth defect and miscarriage rate from using frozen eggs is the same as ivf using fresh eggs. The risk of birth defects appears to be low but not zero. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am on day 8 of an IVF cycle and yesterday I had 17 follicles, but today only 9. Is this normal? The ones that are still there are developing.
Could be: Each cycle follicles are recruited and in if several have enough stimuli to reach critical size and could be harvested. Starting out with 17 and now with 8 indicates that the other follicles were never going to reach critical size even with the hormonal stimulation. Good luck to you! ...Read more

Ask ur ReproEndo doc: Whether someone should have repeat IUI or undergo ivf is a question best addressed by your reproductive endocrinologist who knows you best as there are too many variables to consider for an unknown physician to answer w/o access to your medical records or ability to examine you. Get a local 2nd opinion if you want but should be from someone who examines you & has access to all your information. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Talk to surgeon: You need to ask your myomectomy surgeon as he/she will know how deeply into the uterine musculature the cuts were done to remove the fibroid(s). The repair of the uterine defect(s) determines how long it takes to heal based upon the extensiveness of the surgery and how soon you can get pregnant and carry a child without uterine rupture. ...Read more
My amh-0.78 tried one cycle of IVF transfered only 2 embroies but negative.Pls suggest me how to increase amh level.
AMH and IVF success: First, just because your first ivf cycle was not successful, doesn't mean you won't get pregnant. One measure may be to undergo pgd/pgs to evaluate the embryos before transfer. Still, there isn't a "way" to improve your amh level but some investigators suggest that a diet rich in antioxidants and vitamin d or taking supplements containing these may improve your chance of success. ...Read more

Pregnant or not?: If you are pregnant from ivf and you are bleeding does not mean that the pregnancy is destined to end. Please see your ivf doctor immediately. Talk to your doctor: Only your ivf physician can interpret these numbers - s/he knows where you are in your ivf stimulation cycle, your clinical situation, and what doses of medication you're taking. Good evening everyone, my estradiol on wendsday was 93 and on friday 131.17 tomorrow i will repeat it.Is all this normal or I should stop doing IVF ?
Too early: If this is the initial phase of treatment, it would be too early to tell. If the Estradiol levels stall later or there is a limited number of follicle development on sonography then cancelling the cycle may be considered. At age 44 there is expected diminished ovarian function, which will give you a limited response during ivf. Good luck with your treatment. ...Read more
