Amenorrhea: There are many reason why you can have a later period. Even how stressed you are now, can influence on you menstrual cycle. Being obese, having policystic ovary, doing too much excesise, hormonal issues etc etc. Please follow up with your obgyn recomendations. ...Read more

My d&c was dec and hCG was 1100 in jan. After methotraxate in jan and apr my levels are still at 45 and have gone up and down each month. Help!?

Be careful: Check a urine test too. There is a rare chance u may have antibodies that cause a false elevation of the HCG levels on blood test (but not urine) there was a terrible case of this about 10 years ago where a lady had a hysterectomy lung surgery and radiation because it was assumed her levels were due to a choriocarcinoma, but it was just antibodies in her blood causing false HCG levels. ...Read more

After Hcg = 0 after a D&C, is there a chance of any other complications that should be checked for (just to be safe) or Is HCG = 0 is an all clear ?

Follow up visit: A D and C is a safe procedure and complications are rare. If a complication occurs it typically happens during or in the first hours or days after surgery. After surgery it is best to schedule a post op visit with your surgeon to address any concerns you may have. It is not standard to check a BHCG after a surgical D and C. Nothing wrong with doing it but it's not really needed. ...Read more
