14 week surgical Abortion vs miscarriage. Does the womb look the same a day later or will a doctor be able to tell it was an abortion if he scanned me?

14 week surgical Abortion vs miscarriage. Does the womb look the same a day later or will a doctor be able to tell it was an abortion if he scanned me?

Experienced Dr Knows: Surgical abortion (or miscarriage) has stretching of the the cervix, the lowest part of the uterus, to remove the fetus. That stretching leaves bruising, tiny (less than 1/8" long) tears, bleeding, and even clots or tissue. An OB/GYN will definitely know SOMETHING went on with your cervix. If you are trying to hide your abortion from your doctor, ask yourself why. Your doctor needs to know.

Will the doctor give me a doctors note for having an abortion but not say that?

Will the doctor give me a doctors note for having an abortion but not say that?

Yes: The doctor doesn't have to write your diagnosis or why he saw you. That's not anyone's business. Just that you were seen by a doctor on a specific date or dates. This is only applicable for school & work excuses, not insurance forms or government forms like fmla.

Med. Abortion May 29, doc says U.S. Is showing retained placental material, 11 weeks later and I need D&C, is this possible? Or is it something else?

Possible: I am not an Obstetrician, but I have heard of retained products of conception (retained POC) after elective abortion. It is usually a good idea to evacuate retained POC by D&C, as the material can only be a source for infection or other problems. Retained POCs is not common, but not uncommon either - doctors do the best they can. The oldest POC foun, according to Ripley's BION, is more than 60 yrs

Yes.: Not only is that possible, it is not uncommon. To prevent a potentially life threatening infection or bleeding/hemorrhage you do need a D&C (dilation and curettage.) You should proceed as soon as possible.

TTC: Since you have been trying to conceive for 2 years (TTC), then it is worth the effort to make an appointment with a Fertility MD just to be certain that there is not an obvious problem post abortion. If not, at age 18, most women will in fact conceive with patience as long as their male contributor has a normal sperm analysis.

Can your primary care physician give you the abortion pill?

Can your primary care physician give you the abortion pill?

Yes and no: A doctor can prescribe almost any approved medication, but a doctor wants to be sure he himself or another doctor nearby can take care of any follow-up needs or complications that might occur after a patient uses a medication. Also, doctors can choose which conditions they want to take care of, so many primary care doctors refer pregnancy-related issues to the nearby ob-gyn doctors.

IF a doctor says that I was cleared out after my abortion should I be worried still having cramping after 2 weeks?

Mild cramping: Mild cramping and some bleeding could be normal. But if you are worried a follow-up with the doctor who did the procedure is advisable.

Doctor I sita an indian married women since 10 years I have 5 missed abortions I was diagnosed found bicornuate uterus can I give birth to a child?

Hard to say: The irregularity in the structure of your uterus may make pregnancy difficult. I saw a baby last week born to a woman with the same problem, so it does happen. Surgical removal of the septum may be possible if there is an experienced surgeon in your area and that might improve your chances. Talk with your doc.

Can you tell me, how are doctors/ nurses affected by abortion?

Polar opposites: Those who oppose abortion are offended and upset by abortions. Those who have sympathy for the woman and do not have moral proscriptions against this procedure, can be sympathetic and are unaffected. Most in this category do not advocate abortion but consider it a personal choice.

Are doctors able to find out if you have taken an abortion pill?

No but be honest: There is no blood test that will tell a physician if you've had a medical abortion. But be honest with your physician. If they know your true history they are most likely to be able to help you with whatever your current medical problem is.

What questions can I ask my doctor about the abortion I had done?

Can a doctor find out if you have had an abortion. Plz suggest sir?

Not really: No, your doctor will most likely not be able to tell if you have been pregnant in the past by doing an exam. However, it is of utmost importance that you tell your doctor about you complete medical and surgical history because it can affect any current or future pregnancy in significant ways. Best wishes.

What should I do about prior abortion: tell or not tell the doctor?

What should I do about prior abortion: tell or not tell the doctor?

Open communication: It is important for the patient-doctor relationship to have open communication and honesty. When an obgyn asked about pregnancy history it is for a very good reason. That is the way we (obs) know if you are at higher risk for any conditions, offer different screening exams, etc. Keeping information from your provider may compromise your own care. Have an open discussion. It's all confidential.
