Yes for some-depends: B6, B12 & Folic Acid all lower homocysteine, a metabolite of methionine.High homocysteine is a better predictor of risk of heart disease & stroke than cholesterol, high BP & smoking! these vits. Are proven to lower stroke risk but not yet proven to reduce heart attack risk-but likely will for anyone with high homocysteine. Eat whole foods.: Eating right is the number one measure. Cook with coconut oil. Other risk factors include mthfr mutation which can be checked for. Vit c 500 mg twice daily, vit e 200 iu mixed tocopherols daily, vit d 2000 iu daily, nac 600 mg twice daily, coq10 (ubiquinol) 50-100 mg daily, vit k 45 mcg daily, magnesium glycinate 200 mg once or twice daily as tolerated (can loosen stools). ...Read more
