Slowly adjusting: The biologic clock runs at 25-hour cycle and thus you need to gradually reset your body's time clock by shifting the sleep time one hour each day. How can I reset my sleep schedule?

Fasting (possibly): Research from harvard medical school's dr. Saper suggests that fasting for ~12-16 hours before you want to be awake may be effective. Upon eating after this time period, the theory is that your internal clock will reset to a new day, with the time of this meal being interpreted as "morning". http://www.wisebread.com/how-to-naturally-reset-your-sleep-cycle-overnight. ...Read more

Will a later bed time or cutting an afternoon nap help my baby sleep through the night?

Will a later bed time or cutting an afternoon nap help my baby sleep through the night?

Yes: We all need a certain amount of sleep per day. Even as adults, we know that a nap will make us go to bed later in the day. In a perfect world, we should have a good night's rest every night. The only way to answer your question is for you to try taking out the afternoon nap, and see if your baby will sleep at an earlier bed time and longer at night. If it doesn't help, let him/her nap. ...Read more

Eating at night: If you wake up to eat it MAY mean your blood sugar is dropping and you are eating to help it rise. Please see your doc who may test you for this. You are better off eating before you go to bed rather than in the middle of the night. Three meals at regular times each day or small snacks in between is often best but check w/doc. Peace and good health. ...Read more

Seasonal allergy: keep waking up early for a week now. How do I regulate my sleep schedule?

Treat the allergy: I presume you have a very stuffy and runny nose during certain season. Sleep disturbance is often associated with nasal obstruction and i believe that your sleep quality will get better once you get your nose open. Unfortunately, the decongestant in otc medications often keeps one awake and you should ask your family doctor to try you on a prescription nasal spray. ...Read more
