A lot: A learning disability implys that a person has a specific disability in acquiring the skills in a specific area consistent with their average overall performance. Reading & math are examples. Although this may lead to some stress, it is not a mental health issue. Mh issues imply that a person has difficulty with issues such as depression or psychosis. How would I be able to tell if I have a learning disability or mental problem that hasn't been diagnosed?
Have testing done: Educational psychologists have a variety of tests that screen for learning styles/disabilities as well as mental issues. Poor mental health can often impair ones ability to learn. It would be reasonable to seek clarification after you have a basic physical exam & tests to be sure no health issue is aggravating your problems.
It is possible: There have been studies to show that things such as the ability to multitask can be impaired by chemotherapy. There are other issues with hormonal blocking medicines in some patients as well.
Varies: Some congenital heart problems r associated with learning problems. Some genetic disorders are associated with both too. Secondary learning problems can occur in babies delivered before 38 weeks (for example if the cardiac prob caused labor) or subjected to major health problems in the first month of life. If the heart problem causes decreased blood oxygen, then the developing brain can suffer.See 1 more doctor answer

Smoking weed? First try. For anxiety, panic attack, disability l/t pain/relax;opposed to Dizapam/codine? Also on Sertraline 150&flu. Concerns? Dangerous?
THC can be helpful: Chris, If you have found smoking marijuana to be helpful in reducing your anxiety and panic attacks I would suggest you try other oral forms of TCH to see if you have the same level of benefit. I would also encourage you to consider forms of exercise and exertion that are within your ability i.e. swimming, rowing, walking, biking. If you don't have an accountability partner you may consider one.
Yes: I agree with everything dr snead said. But why are you using drugs in front of your children? It's bad enough you use drugs, but modeling this behavior for them to mimic will encourage their subsequent drug use. Please think about your parental responsibilities, and put this adolescent drug behavior behind you. If you can't, please seek drug/alcohol rehab help. Do it for your kids!See 4 more doctor answers
Marijuana: With a significant cardiac abnormality, it would not be a good idea to use this agent.
No: You are just trading one problem for another. Smoking cannabis brings with it all the problems of smoking tobacco. The "better" feeling you get is just one of intoxication. You are masking your underlying problems not treating them. Many studies now indicate that chronic cannabis use puts you at greater risk for schizophrenia as well. Work with you doctor to find a good mediction for you.See 2 more doctor answers

Unlikely: But a sedentary lifestyle, obesity, sitting at a stationary position for a long time (as in a long plane ride) are all risk factors for DVT.
Battery of tests: There are a battery of tests that are used by professionals to determine learning style and ability. Psycho-educational, learning achievement, & social tests are standard in children. Most school systems offer these through a child study team assessment. Neurodevelopmental testing can precede or follow these tests depending on severity of the problem.See 1 more doctor answer

WOW!: First, having a learning disability is just educational lingo for "s/he doesn't learn how most students do." none of us are perfect. The idea in life is to search out that for which you are gifted or very capable, & follow that path. For some it may be a trade, military career, or "hands on profession." for others it may be in business or sales. Or computers/math if your "ld" is language based.See 1 more doctor answer
