Peroneal subluxation: The surgery to re groove the fibula and possibly repair the tendon would require 4-6 weeks of healing and non weight bearing- no walking. Followed by 3-4 weeks maybe longer if physical therapy. If you are taking pain medications then school would be out. If can use crutches at school then maybe 1-2 weeks after surgery. Depends...: If you are 38, not participating in recreational sports , and have an isolated acl tear( no meniscus tear) then physical therapy to regain motion and strengthen your quads is an option...Functional knee bracing can be helpful in some patients.
