See below: I suspect that perhaps your physician felt you were having what is called a cluster headache. If so, the lack of response may indicate the diagnosis is incorrect or just that the medication doesn't work in every case. Sweating and: Light-headedness are well-known side effects of steroids and should go away a few days after you're off the prednisone. As dr. Namey noted, steroids are usually not the first line of treatment for gout, but there are times when non-steroidal antiinflammatories are either dangerous or can't be used (like in diabetics or patients with kidney disease), in which case Prednisone is used. ...Read more

Not Normal but...: ...it could be from the Prednisone itself or the cold symptoms you concurently have. You can take Ibuprofen for a few days and see how you feel. Most likely the headace will subside and you should be feeling back to normal soon. ...Read more

Suspect ..: I suspect your issues have less to do with lupus vascular inflammation than other issues. Prednisone is an energy booster, but depression may be in the equation. The picture is more stress than active sle! ...Read more

I have had chronic migraine for 4 years and fibromyalgia for 3 years. I have tried numerous medications, Botox injections in the head and a 21 day course of Prednisone. All of these, especially Botox and Prednisone have alleviated the pain to some degree.

Question?: I am not sure of your question; however BOTH Botox and prednisone are useful therapies. I would ask your treating physician about the use of either beta blockers or calcium channel blockers as prophylactic medication to prevent migraines from occurring altogether. ...Read more
