Yes: I think you mean pityriasis rosea. This is a common rash in young adults, occurs mostly spring & fall. Usually starts with one large patch, the herald patch, followed by multiple smaller areas. Typically clears in about 6-8 weeks. It is rare for anyone else in the house to get it, even though it's thought to be viral. Rarely does forever: Rosacea is very troublesome for many and involves the skin with good blood supply such as the cheeks and nose. Some things make it worse, such as diet, hormone manipulation, hot/ humid weather, etc. The mayo clinic newsletter last year had a great review that you may find helpful with a list of foods, etc., to avoid. Certain lasers are helpful, but skin prone to rosacea rarely is symptom free. ...Read more

Anxiety: There is no one "best" medication for anxiety. I see that you've listed Lexapro (escitalopram) in your medications, and this can be helpful for some people's anxiety but not everyone's. If your current medication is not providing the desired relief, please work with your physician to find something that helps. Also, most find that psychotherapy is an essential component of anxiety treatment. ...Read more

See Plastics or Derm: Rosacea is a complex issue, and should be handled by someone with training and experience with rosacea. Plastic surgeons and dermatologists see the most of this. There are many outstanding primary care physicians that also treat rosacea. Try to find one that has experience with this issue. ...Read more
