Stopping A Period With Norethisterone
I'm on Nexplanon, went 2 months without a period and now I've been bleeding for 6 weeks. Is it normal? Can I take Norethindrone to stop the bleeding?
Spotting started yesterday, 4 th week on micronor, (norethindrone) is this my period or breakthrough bleeding? Should I stop taking the pill so I can get my period?
What when you are prescribe norethindrone for 5mg for 10 day and when you stop is the same time you are suppose to get regular period. Will I've withdrawal bleeding then start my regular mense later?
Confusing question: You, if I understand the question, will have withdrawel bleeding after you finish the norethindrone. Why is it being used? Your "regular" period may or may not occur as you normally expect it.
I started my period. I am not currently taking birth control, but I have norethindrone 5mg from before. Can I take norethindrone to stop the bleeding?
Should I stop taking Norethindrone? I have 2 period/month now and intestinal issues. I feel like my uterus is bleeding acid - it burns. Help!
Probably: Norethindrone is a synthetic progestin and is only related to progesterone chemically. Depending on why you are taking this medication, progesterone is almost always a better alternative. Your body recognizes progesterone. It doesn't recognize synthetic progestins like norethindrone or Provera (medroxyprogesterone). Side effects of these medications include all the symptoms that perimenopausal women describe.
Is it possible to continuously take levelen to miss periods and take norethisterone to stop the breakthrough bleeding at the same time?
Well: Not a good idea could have adverse health effects. Consult primary care doctor or obstetrician gynecologist for specific advice
I Am having mid cycle bleeding similar to a period. Very heavy. My last period ended only 1 week ago. I have been taking Micronor (norethindrone) for 1 1/2 months?
Micronor (norethindrone): As with all progesterone only contraceptives, abnormal bleeding is a side effect. This could mean no bleeding at all or bleeding every day, or anything in between. Keep a calendar of episodes of bleeding. It usually takes 3-6months before you will settle into whatever pattern you will end up having on the Micronor (norethindrone).
I had my period for 2 months. My doctor gave Aygestin (norethindrone).I'm taking it for 21 days. Been on it for 10 days. Bleeding light 4 days ago. Should I be worried?
Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working.
What might cause midcycle bleeding? . I started Micronor (norethindrone) 1 1/2 months ago. My last period was a week ago. I have polyps and one ovarian cyst.
Progesterone only: Micronor (norethindrone) doesn't contain estrogen, only progesterone. For this reason it doesn't give you a regular period each month. Your periods can be somewhat random while you are on this medication. It can come more than once per month and the duration of flow may be inconsistent. If you want one period a month, you may want to be on a pill with both estrogen and progesterone.
Dr thought its fibroid, norethisterone 5mg x 3 for constant periods. They stopped working after 2 mths now bleeding daily for 7 wks. Lump is hernia?
I was on micronor (norethindrone) for a year after birth but it made me bleed constantly. I came off 2mths ago and have had no period. Neg preg test. Very unusual! ?
Off BCP: Not unusual. Birth control pills are hormones and at times when stopping there may be a period of amenorrhea (up to 6 months). Would check urine/blood HCG possible sonogram, which would rule out pregnancy and check for developing follicles. In post pill amenorrhea there are no developing follicles, also your LH/FSH is low. Will norethisterone stop period once it starts-have been taking 4 2 days but feel period is coming (due sat/sun). If I continue pills will it stop it?
Typically: We can not always predict exactly what I going to happen with Progesterone use. Sometimes it depends on why you are using it. It is not particularly typical to prescribe it days before someone is due to start their cycle. The pills will try and stop your period. Your uterus thinks its time for one. Only one will win.
Can norethisterone affect the next period? I'm 8days late from the due date. Last month took the tablet for 5days and got periods after 4days of stop
Sounds like: You have PCOS and have irregular periods and need the medication to bleed. An alternative would just be to take the pill. Even the way you are doing it you donor ovulate so it would be easier just to take the OCPs.
Have been taking norethisterone to stop bleeding after my copper coil fell out. Its been over a week now and I am still bleeding heavy is this normal?
Call your doc.: Bleeding for more than 7 days, means you need to call your doc to find out what to do next, or if you need to get seen. No one can predict the effect of hormones on periods exactly the first time you have been tried on them. So, since this is not working, you need to try something else.
Unlikely: Typically, once the period starts, it usually runs its course. You may have to experiment with using significant doses of norethisterone to try and stop it, and may take some days.
Maybe: Some women don't bleed on it while some do and others have constant bleeding -- it varies. The dose matters, too.
Haave taken my first norethisterone tablet today but have started to bleed can I carry in and my bleeding will stop as I go on holiday soon?
It does not stop: Your period once it starts. It is taken to prevent to start a period.
Depends on the dose: It will depend on the dose and the cause of the period. If the bleeding is very heavy and is not due to a pathologic cause like a growth (fibroid) then 5 to 10 days. The medicine requires an intact pituitary/endometrium connection for feedback to stop the bleeding.
I am taking norethisterone to help stop vaginal bleeding. Been bleeding for 3 months now! How long does it take to work?
Daily bleeding x3mo?: Sounds like a Gynecologic evaluation is overdue. By the way, is the Norethisterone a shot, an OTC supplement, part of your contraceptive, or a prescription?
