Often painful: Gonorrhea in women may be very painful (pelvic inflammatory disease can be caused by gonorrhea). Any over-the-counter help for someone with neisseria gonorrhea infection?

No: Early recognition and proper rx of this problem with prescription meds solves many problems.Although the gc symptoms may be so noticable that few can overlook them, there are often more than one std present at a time & all need to be recognized & eliminated. This reduces spread and the life altering complications(ie infertility) involved.Since rx for one std may not eliminate all, get evaluated. ...Read more

What's the best treatment to get rid of neisseria gonorrhea infection?

What's the best treatment to get rid of neisseria gonorrhea infection?

Be careful please: As of 2010 injectable Ceftriaxone appears to be one of the few effective antibiotics. Because of increasing rates of antibiotic resistance local susceptibility patterns need to be taken into account when deciding on treatment. Many antibiotics that were once effective including penicillin, tetracycline and fluoroquinolones are no longer recommended because of high rates of resistance. Thanks. ...Read more

Neisseria : Neisseria gonorrhea do not live outside of the body. They are transmitted cell-to-cell. They are an intracellular organism. When they come in contact with a new cell, they attach to the cell membrane and are transmitted. Therefore, you can't get gonorrhea by touching a toilet or tabletop for example. ...Read more

Can a gonorrhea infection during pregnancy harm the unborn child?

Can a gonorrhea infection during pregnancy harm the unborn child?

Depends: Recognition & treatment of gonorrhea during pregnancy does not necessarily harm the fetus. The infection can remain localized to external glandular structures and the exterior cervix without invading the fetus. Other std's like syphillis have a variable effect. If untreated, the baby may acquire gc and lose vision from a tremendous eye infection. If concerned get tested & treated. ...Read more

How can you catch clap if you and your partner swear blind no one has cheated?? Can it be passed from passing water infection back and forth?

Gonorrhea: this STD is spread through sexual contact. Women who have it may have no symptoms at all, so may spread it unknowingly. Men usually always have symptoms. At some point someone in the relationship was exposed to this disease. It is important for you both to be treated as there are potentially serious long term effects if not treated. ...Read more

Could long term gonorrhea infection cause penile dermatitis?

Could long term gonorrhea infection cause penile dermatitis?

No - different area: Gonorrhea in men usually causes a urethritis - which is an infection of the urethra, which is 'inside' the penis - not on the outside. If you are worried about an external dermatitis, it must be something else other than gonorrhea. It could be 'fungus' since I notice you've got 'jock itch' listed above. I suggest you see an ID doc- those doctors specialize in this kind of thing. Take care. ...Read more

Most probably: Chlamydia and Gonorrhea can be detected in urine, male urethra, female vagina/cervical mucus, rectal/anal and oropharyngeal samples using the more sensitive Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests. French vs Treatment: This archaic term has been around for years befor we understood what germs were about.
