If I put moisturizer on a cancerous mole, will it make it less dry and scaly?

Medical check up?: Any mole that has scales or appears dry and irritated should be examined by a physician. If it is a brown or black lesion, look at its borders. If it is changing in size or color or gets elevated, these are signs of concern as a mole can turn into a melanoma in which case it has to be removed before it gets out of control. Get a medical check to be sure. ...Read more

Used retin A (tretinoin) twice on penis head...skin burned, reddish and sore patches. applying Vaseline, moisturizer for 3 days. can I apply Betnovate ointment?

Stop: I have no idea why you want to put Retin A (tretinoin) on your penis head since there is no wrinkle there. If so, it is ok to use it once a day for 3-4 days but no more). ...Read more

I have a small freckle or possibly mole on my thigh that seems to appear and then disappear. It has a red ring around it. What is it?

Have it checked.: Most likely it is a benign lesion given your history. The red ring around it could be from irritation or the presence of a vascular lesion/blood vessels underlying or adjacent to the freckle. ...Read more

On my lower back I have a dark red kind of purplish mole with uneven edges that appears and disappears from time to time, could it be bad?

Sounds vascular: It sounds like it is some form of blood-vessel related growth, like an angioma or hemangioma, rather than a typical "mole". How large is it? Is it raised? How long have you had it? Without a photo, it's hard to tell by your description - see a dermatologist for a definitive diagnosis. ...Read more
