8 weeks 5 days pregnant, very painful dental abscess, what shall I do and what are the risks to my baby? Are there any treatments with zero risk?

Risk: I do not know of any interventive treatment with no risks. In your situation obviously if you had treatment prior to conception that would have been ideal. Can tooth abcess cause premature labor? I have a tooth that needs a root canal but they won't do it until baby is born will it harm? I'm 28 weeks

Yes: But more info is needed... Why won't your dentist treat you? Because of your pregnancy? You are better off treating it now than taking the risk of infection and severe pain. Have your dentist refer you to an endodontic specialist and have him/her coordinate with your obgyn. Many times this can be completed in one visit. All the best.. ...Read more
