If whoever is doing the testing only uses screening tests, and does not confirm the positive test with more sophisticated methods, they are not following generally recognized principles of drug testing and could be subject to lawsuits. Look on the fine : print. Anything that says "pm" on it has diphenhydramine aka Unisom aka Benadryl in it. Yes it can cause false positives. Depends on test brand. It's used in pediatrics for allergic reactions, so it's fair to say the general medical population considers it safe *properly dosed* It is mildly habit-forming, but way less than doxylamine.
