Generally, general: Anesthesia is provided for this out-patient procedure which is usually not complicated. Surgery is less risky than aspiration for infection and is more likely to last. No: It's hard to comment on a surgery i wasn't present for in general, the swelling goes down after about 6 weeks at 4 months, talk with your surgeon about whether you should have an ultrasound.
