Will Hypopituitarism Cause Infertility Male Female
No: Most cases of hypopitiuitarism do not involve the cells that produce puberty signals. Only by measuring puberty hormone levels during the first 3 months of life or around puberty that fertility state can be assessed. A genetic test can also help if it is feasible. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

I will see my endocrinologist, but what could be causing my chills and hot flashes? I have hypopituitarism and male.
Does hypopituitarism caused by an adenoma result in chronic hormone deficiency or is it more likely to be an episodic deficiency I have a macroadenoma causing hypopituitarism deficiency in, fsh/lh and acth and i' am currently taking medication for cortiso
Although : Although hypopituitarism is not episodic, you may indeed be hypothyroid. In the presence of a macroadenoma one cannot rely on the tsh. A low end of normal free thyroxine would, in my view, suggest that you are indeed hypothyroid especially if you have symptoms and have other hormonal deficiencies. I would tend to supplement you with thyroid hormone. You also may be growth hormone deficient. Growth hormone deficiency may cause fatigue. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Different control: Hi. Good question. As you know, cortisol production by the adrenal cortex is exquisitely regulated by ACTH from the pituitary. In ACTH-deficiency (hypo pit.), cortisol must be replaced. The primary regulator of aldosterone production is the renin-angiotensin system, which does NOT involved the pituitary, and functions just fine in hypopituitarism. ACTH will acutely stimulate aldo, but is not req'd ...Read more
Pituitary & thyroid: Hypopit patients are missing many or all of their pituitary hormones because of pituitary or hypothalamic damage. Growth hormone, lh/fsh, tsh, acth, adh, (vasopressin) etc. Hypopit patients often are hypothyroid because they can't make the thyroid stim hormone (tsh). People who are just hypothyroid can't make thyroid hormone because of thyroid damage. Tsh is high in such patients. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can you explain the symptoms and treatment for hypopituitarism, which my dad has been diagnosed with?
Many hormones: The pituitary makes many hormones that control adrenals (cortisol), thyroid, growth hormone, reproductive hormones, and more. Hypopit is an imprecise term but means that some or all of these hormones are deficient, with symptoms associated with the specific hormones. Cause can be tumor, trauma, radiation, other diseases. The hormones need to be replaced under the care of an endocrinologist. ...Read more

With more major surgery/illness, stress dose of Prednisone maybe needed, but otherwise no. Best is to consult your doc... Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
