Possible: A Pap smear is from a sample of cells from the cervix and they can be affected by pregnancy and can be contaminated by cell from the uterus. Very very rare: A normal screening PAP should not cause any significant damage to any structures. It is a mild scraping or brushing of the ecto-cervix, outside ,and not the canal or endo, inside structures. A PAP smear is indicated as part of a routine exam for pregnancy.
