Will Hair Grow Back In The Area Of Ringworm On The Scalp
Generally yes: There are no guarantees of anything, but once successfully treated the hair should grow back.
Scalp is the part of the skin on the skull, deeply attached to the skull and has the hair shafts from it. Rest of the skin in the head like facial skin (beard) has only 2 layers -epidermis and dermis. Scalp has 5 different layers unlike facial skin/rest of skin all over body. Scalp-s-epidermis, c-conn. How long does Scalp ringworm take to go away? And how long does it take for the hair grow back fully?
Not all the same: Scalp "ringworm" refers to tinea capitis, which is transmitted from one child to another, but is uncommon once adolescence it reached. If the diagnosis is correct, the course depends on the infecting fungus, the extent and duration of infection, and the precise details of treatment. Make sure the diagnosis is correct. If you have not seen a dermatologist, do so.
Hopefully: As long as fungus has been adequately treated and hair follicles were note scarred, hair should start to grow back after several weeks. Adequate treatment usually requires oral antifungals.
Weeks: It can take several weeks. Hang in there.See 1 more doctor answer

Itchy smooth pink bump on scalp. Hair falling out around it in dime size area. What is it? Will hair grow back? I do hav body acne, could be related?
Alopecia. Areata?: It sounds like alopecia areata. This is common usually related to stress and it always comes back. Have a dermatologist see it.
Usually not: Scars occur between the follicles and can be of varying widths. If the scar is quite wide, sometimes it makes sense to cut out the scar and bring the scalp together to narrow the new scar so that the gap between the hairs is not as great. Unfortunately, if the scalp is pulled too tightly, tension can kill the hair follicles at the edge of the incision and result in a wide hairless area again.See 4 more doctor answers
I have 4 sebaceous cysts in my scalp, do I have to remove them? Will hair grow back if they are removed?
Maybe: If it gets infected, painful, or bothers you than have it excised. If excised correctly it shouldn't effect your hair.
40 y.O male. I put garlic and cayenne pepper on my scalp to stop balding but it burned my scalp with blisters. My hair fell out. Will hair grow back?
Blisters: You sure learnt something. Give it a few weeks and your hair might come back. If not see a dermatologist.
Infiltrated plasma cells in scalp can cause sccaring alopecia? Or will the hair grow back after clearning this infiltration?
This is not a diagno: This is a description of microscopic observation on biopsy, NOT A DIAGNOSIS. Need discussion with DR for that.
Possibly but...: The chances of regrowth depend on a lot of factors. The amount of area involved, the type of infection (i.e fungal), the duration of infection, and the treatment used/needed. A dermatologist should probably be consulted in case scalp injections can help to stimulate hair regrowth. Time may be of the essence in getting evaluated/treated, so please followup promptly.See 1 more doctor answer

I've been taking singulair (montelukast) for two months now. M I recall I noticing hair loss within 2 wks. Scalp felt like tight ponytail. Will my hair grow back?
It should..: Use of singulair (montelukast) is not known to cause hair loss, but significant illnes can. Other meds can cause hair loss as well. Generally, the hair will grow back. Just make sure you have your scalp checked out because ring-worm on scalp can cause hair loss which will not grow back untill it is treated. Cnsult doc. Good luck.

How do I get rid of ringworm scars? I've been having this scar on my scalp for 4 years and my hair never grew back
Get scar revision: If a scar on the scalp shows no signs of hair regrowth within 4-6 months, it is unlikely that hair will ever regrow. Therefore you will need either a scar revision (sometimes the bald spot can be cut out) or hair grafts. There are surgeons who specialize in hair issues. Ask your doctor for a referral, or if you don't have one, call the local county medical society.See 2 more doctor answers
