See below: Though amoxicillin may be effective in eradicating chlamydia and is one of the drugs of choice if pregnant, current 2015 CDC guidelines otherwise recommend a single 1 g dose of Azithromycin or 7 day course of doxycycline 100 mg BID as preferred choices and erythromycin, levofloxacin or ofloxacin as alternatives.
