Taking amoxicillin for a sinus infection & a couple days after I noticed swelling, itching, & discharge in my vagina. Now my symptoms seem milder. ?

Yeast infection: Unfortunately, antibiotics like amoxicillin not only kill the bacteria that in your case caused the sinus infection, but also the lactobacillae present in the vagina. That in turn promoted the growth of candida, I suspect, and you ended up with a yeast infection. If your vaginal symptoms are ceasing, your lactobacilli may be recovering. ...Read more

Taking cyclosporine due to liver transplant. I have sinus infection with cold, can I take Nimesulide?

No: Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug not available in many countries due its hepatotoxic effects. You should especially not take it. Rx Doxycycline for Sinus Infection. Stopped after Side effects (pulsatile tinnitus). It’s been 3 weeks, pulsatile tinnitus not gone. Permanent?

Rx Doxycycline for Sinus Infection. Stopped after Side effects (pulsatile tinnitus). It’s been 3 weeks, pulsatile tinnitus not gone. Permanent?

Probably not doxy: Doxycycline is not a likely cause. More likely a coincidence that it started while taking the drug, especially since it has continued this long. If one of your sinuses is plugged and filled with fluid, that could result in pulsatile tinnitus by increasing transmission of blood flow sound in an artery. Discuss with your doctor, including if other tests are indicated. ...Read more
