Can be, no, maybe: Gastroesoph reflux, backflow of stomach contents, is worsened by large meals, fatty/fried/greasy foods, alcohol, coffee, tobacco, lying down after eating, bending over after meals, exercise, tight garments, peppermint, chamomile, overweight. Can be "cured" in some if above "lifestyle" issues addressed. We don't all get with age. Young people can get it, esp if "spicy" is e.g. Pepp pizza/beer. ...Read more

Possibly: This could be related to the bulimia or esophagitis, but it could also be a colitis. You need to see a gastroenterologist and may need a colonoscopy to get an accurate diagnosis. Please seek treatment for the bulimia as it can cause many medical problems if not treated. ...Read more

I've heard that B4: Very bad anxiety seems to be able to make pretty much anything worse - at the very least it 'feels' worse. But gastric symptoms are a frequent complaint. So, it is a good reason to get the anxiety under control. Not only by medication, but by therapy to learn skills. Ways to avoid, reduce and manage anxiety are what you want. Cbt can help. Perhaps not.: Your gerd may be based on lower esophageal sphinctal dysfunction - that is, the muscular valve between the esophagus and stomach doesn't close when the stomach is full or hard at work on roughage. Smaller amounts may solve the problem. Or you could try adding ranitidine to your program in addition to lansoprazole. ...Read more
