May be normal: To some degree, it is normal to get some increase in heart rate after eating & drinking (esp high sugar foods like alcohol) as digestion naturally increases the work of the heart/Increased blood flows to the stomach to aid digestion. I never understand: why people who ask if it's ok to drink never say HOW MUCH they are drinking HOW OFTEN. I guess I actually do understand - it is because they are drinking too much, too often. not common: The nerves of the digestive system are complex and not well understood. It is possible that there is some connection between alcohol contact in the mouth and rectal sensation. It could also be that your own emotional response to drinking is driving neurological response at the rectum. Perhaps the easy thing to do is stop drinking.
