Skin care routine: You need a good skin care routine to diminish sebaceous gland activity and acne disease as well as exfoliate. Too much benzoyl peroxide is not good either and may dry out the skin. Use a mild facial wash such as cetaphil followed by a non-comedogenic moisturizer such as eucerin daily facial with spf as well as a possible topical retinoid and periodic exfoliation. This is serious: Please don't neglect evidence-based medicine in the treatment of rosacea. If you can find an evidence-based "holistic" practitioner in your community, he/she may be able to offer advice. But if "natural medicine" actually worked, rosacea patients in the old days wouldn't have ended up with their faces mutilated. This doesn't have to be you with today's 21st century treatments. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Will i always have to use finacea to keep my rosacea under control? My doctor told me that I should see maximum results from using finacea after a few months. Is this drug something that i'll always have to use to control my rosacea? Can i eventually begi
Your : Your doctor was absolutely correct - you start to see changes in 2-4 months. That's when you know whether or not your topical or oral treatment for rosacea is truly having an impact on your symptoms. Rosacea is something that you will need to manage, it is a chronic skin condition. A cornerstone of my treatment involves the use of a broad spectrum sunscreen regularly in addition to the use of topicals such as finacea/azelaic acid. I like to stress that each treatment needs to be individualized. Hope that helps! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have naturally red checks, is that called rosacea, asked my dermatologist but she didn't say anything should I mention it to my doctor for an RX?

Do you know why you're on it? ...Read more
If I have rosacea or perioral dermatitis, haven't been diagnosed, my doctor has given me fucibet cream to use for 7-10 days, but then it comes back...
Rosacea and steroids: Steroids like those in fucibet can make rosacea significantly worse. When you apply a steroid cream to the skin, it constricts blood vessels for several hours making rosacea appear better temporarily. Over time these blood vessels dilate even more with topical steroids. Also steroids increase numbers of demodex mites in hair follicles also worsening rosacea. ...Read more

Accutane treatment: Accutane is a vitamin a derivative used to treat acne. It is fda approved but has siginificant potential side effect and should only be used in stubborn to clear acne or widespread pustular acne which does not respond to more traditional topical and oral medications. Rosacea should be a temporary side effect from the Accutane and should clear once you are off the medicine. Hope this helps. ...Read more
