Obstipation: I recommend that you be examined if this is an unusual bowel problem for you. Concerning symptoms would be abdominal cramping and dissension, vomiting and complete absence of any stool for all those days. After your physician or a gastroenterologist rules out any intestinal obstruction, you may be prescribed a laxative and/ or rectal suppository or enema. Read more

Call pediatrician: This really needs to be addressed by the pediatrician with a physical examination to determine the full extent of what is going on. I wouldn't even give advice over this forum as I have not examined your daughter...Which is the most important thing that needs to happen here. Read more

I have M.S and get constipation a lot. Can it trigger me sometimes to faint?

I have M.S and get constipation a lot. Can it trigger me sometimes to faint?

Concur w/Dr. Raboubi: I would like to add a detail that may be important to this question. I agree with Dr. Raboubi that constipation in and of itself should not cause fainting spells but the straining on the toilet that a patient is inclined to do very well could cause such problems and even worse so be aware of this...and that would even be in a patient without M.S. Talk to your doctor on ways to avoid straining. Read more

Hi. My 2 years daughter suffers from constipation, someties she‘s bleeding and it‘s hurts her. What should I do for her. Thanx.

Make stools softer: Try to work on her diet if that is the issue. If she drinks a lot of milk try to taper to 16 oz. If she only eats a lot of carbohydrates try to have her eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Generally pears, plum, peaches, dark greens help make stools softer. Make sure she drinks a lot of fluids. Read more
