How will a colon cleanse help the body?

How will a colon cleanse help the body?

It doesn't. : The idea of colon cleansing is based on a misunderstanding of anatomy & physiology. Your colon is actually outside of you. You actually surround a space through which foods pass & excrement is produced. The body takes care of its own cleansing if you have a proper diet & fluid intake. Can a colon cleanser detoxify my body naturally?

Be careful: There is no evidence that a 'colon cleanse' improves digestive health. In fact, some colon cleanse techniques can cause dehydration and other problems requiring hospitalization. Will a colon cleanse release toxins from my body?

Will a colon cleanse release toxins from my body?

Yes and No: It can help release toxins, but please realize that your body naturally wants to get toxins out. When you have enough fiber in your diet, the toxins will bind and be eliminated. Make sure your liver has what it needs to detox appropriately. I do not believe colon cleanses are necessary. You can get bloating, cramping.. Don't force a detox. Support the body and it will detox on its own! ...Read more

If the body has a natural tendency to heal itself, why must physicians surgically remove parts of the colon or intestine?

If the body has a natural tendency to heal itself, why must physicians surgically remove parts of the colon or intestine?

If there are tumors in the colon, vascular damage, or extreme inflammation that kills part of the colon, those parts must be removed so that the rest can function well (and so can you!).
